APK of the Week - Kick The Buddy
Okey-doke, so my son downloaded this game last week, I saw him playing it and had to have a go myself. After playing it I thought I would do a quick review and maybe do a feature of a different APK each week.
Kick the Buddy is this weeks APK (Android PacKage) of the week. It is apparently a stress-relieving interactive action game from Playendary.
So what's all about?
Well basically Buddy is a rag-doll puppet just waiting to be abused or entertained. There is an amazing amount of ways of interacting with Buddy, you can punch him, kick him, stab him, launch missiles, throw grenades, electrocute him, basically abuse him until knocking him out or killing him. So if your need of letting off a little steam then look no further than Buddy.
The game is rated as PEGI 7 on the Play Store. Perhaps this may be a little young for some. Especially considering the violence and graphical nature of the game.
Kick the Buddy is available on Google Play Store as a free download. For those of you that have an Apple device I believe it is also available on the App Store.
The downsides to this game, as with most mobile games, are the amount of adverts on the free version. There is a subscribe option available that will remove the ads, although I thought it was rather expensive, a whopping 6.99 a week for diamond membership. I can buy a case of beers for that! Anyway, in game purchases are also available. You can earn in game cash to buy weapons etc. however it will take a long time to earn enough for the most exotic of weapons and torture methods.
In conclusion
My first impressions were good, it was fun. However after around 10 minutes it became a bit tedious and just plain nonsense. For those of you that can put up with the adverts or are willing to pay, Kick the Buddy is a highly addictive, fun game that will give you hours of entertainment. Time will fly by when your having fun with your Buddy.
Kick the Buddy is marketed as a stress-relieving game. It may for some however induce stress. You need to avoid this game, if like me, you get frustrated with adverts and you don't like parting with your hard earned cash to remove them.

If it wasn't for the amount of adverts and the expense of the subscriptions, Kick the Buddy could easily of scored 8 or 9 /10. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the odd advert, it helps fund the developers and keeps games free or at a low cost, but there were just way to many on this game.
