Kikstart - A Super Fun Commodore 16 Game
Continuing with the Commodore 16, we have another cracking little game. This one, like Tutti Frutti, would easily get in to the top 10 Commodore 16 games.Kikstart is another famous game developed and produced by Shaun Southern and Mr.Chip Software. Published by Mastertronic in 1986.
The game is based on an old Television show called "Kick Start" that was aired on the BBC between 1979 and 1988. Where trial motorcyclists would compete over a hazardous tracks and obstacles. Even the annoying music on the game is taken from the show. Mr. Walkie Talkie - Be My Boogie Woogie Baby.
Kikstart is an arcade action game. Where you race against the clock, jumping over buses, logs an other obstacles. If you fail to reach the end of the course before that clock hits zero, its Game Over.
Some of the obstacles you face, apart from logs and buses are: Potholes, trees, fences, spinning blades and lightning. There are some goodies to be collected though. If you pop the balloons you gain some extra points.
The one downside, and I mean it's small... is the difficulty factor. As you progress through the 16 different courses, it gets hard. Having said that don't most games get harder the further you progress in them.
All in all, and if we take in to consideration the capabilities of the Commodore 16, then Kikstart is great! It is fun to play. The graphics are neat and look good. The sound effects are good and even the music "annoying as it is", is good.

Cheats For Kikstart
Cheat codes have to be entered into the Monitor. To access the Monitor simply press "RUN/STOP" and "RESET" on the machine. To restart the game after entering the cheat code type G 2000
- To choose a starting level: Press and hold "3" and "4" simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

- For invincibility enter: >26AC 60
- For unlimited lives enter: >28A3 A5
- For unlimited time enter: >2349 BD
